The Irish final was held on March 12th at The Olympia Theatre in Dublin, hosted by Ronan Collins. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 12 members of the public.

Kiev Connolly came 18th at the ESC. Nicola Kerr represented Ireland in ESC 1977 (in the group ‘The Swarbriggs Plus Two’). Linda Martin represented Ireland in ESC 1984.
