The Yugoslav Final was held on March 2nd at the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija, hosted by Oliver Mlakar, Ljiljana Trajkovska, Milanka Bavcon & Mica Orlovic. Before the final there were 2 semi-finals. The winning song was chosen by the votes of a jury of 24 people.

Korni Grupa changed the song title to “Generacija-42” for the ESC where it came 12th. They previously came equal 3rd in the 1969 Yugoslav Final & 3rd in 1973. Eva Srsen represented Yugoslavia in ESC 1970. Tereza Kesovija represented Monaco in ESC 1966 & Yugoslavia in ESC 1972.
