The Finnish Final was held on February 14th at the YLE TV Studios in Helsinki, hosted by Aarno Walli, Erkki-Mikael, Risto Vanari & Marion Rung who had represented Finland in 1962. Each of the songs was performed twice – once with a small band, and once with a large orchestra. The winning song was chosen by the votes of 10 regional juries.

Although Irmeli Mäkelä won the final, she was replaced by Laila Halme at the ESC where she came 13th equal.
