Dutch National Final 1959

The Dutch Final was held on February 17th at the AVRO TV Studios in Hilversum, hosted by Karin Kraaykamp. Each of the songs was performed twice by different artists, once with a big orchestra, and once with a small orchestra. The winning song was chosen by 12 regional juries, while an “expert” jury chose Teddy Scholten over John de Mol as the singer.

Teddy Scholten went on to win the ESC. Corrie Brokken represented the Netherlands from 1956-1958, winning 1957.
